Michael J. Boero DVM, MS, DACVS
Dr.Boero graduated from Washington State University Veterinary College in 1974. He practiced for 4 years at Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital, a state of art mixed practice in Snohomish, WA. To follow his interest in equine surgery, he completed an Equine Surgery Residency and MS Degree at Kansas State University. He was an Equine Surgeon at the University of Illinois for 10 years where his interests were lameness, orthopedic and general surgery. He completed the specialty board certification in surgery in 1991. After leaving the university, Dr.Boreo started a traveling surgical referral practice servicing several clinics in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Missouri as well as providing field surgery where a clinic wasn’t available. Over the past 10 years Dr.Boero’s practice has evolved into a clinic based practice specializing in performance medicine and surgery. Dr.Boreo is dedicated to continuing education for his staff, clients, and himself. He belongs to the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, American Association of Equine Practitioners, international Society for the Study of Locomotors Pathology, American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association.
